This week, God has really been dealing with me about surrender. And not the kind of surrender that makes you feel like you’re losing something… but the kind that makes you breathe a little easier.
I used to think surrender meant giving up. Letting go of control. Falling behind. Losing my grip on the things I’ve been praying for.
But God has been showing me something different and something gentler.
Sometimes surrender is the moment you finally stop fighting battles that were never yours to fight. Sometimes it’s the moment you stop trying to force what isn’t flowing. Sometimes it’s simply saying, “Lord… I’m tired. I trust You with this.”
And that kind of surrender? You may ask? It is the one that doesn’t breaks you. It frees you.
What God Showed Me This Week
I realized I’ve been carrying things that were too heavy for me, expectations, timelines, worries, “what ifs,” and “how will this work out?” And God kept nudging me, reminding me:
“You don’t have to hold this. You don’t have to fix this. You don’t have to figure this out alone.”
Surrender isn’t a weakness. It’s wisdom. It’s choosing peace over pressure. It’s choosing God’s plan over your panic.
And honestly… it feels good to let go.
The Kind of Surrender That Brings Peace
There’s a peace that only comes after you say, “God, I release this. I trust You with this.”
Not halfway. Not with conditions. Not with fear. But with fully trust and hope in You.
And when you do, something shifts inside you. Your mind settles. Your heart softens. Your spirit rests.
Because surrender isn’t losing control, but it’s placing control in the hands of the One who never fails.
A Simple Prayer for This Season for you.
Lord, teach us how to let go without fear. Help us to release what we can’t control. Help us to trust Your timing, Your plan, and Your heart for us. Show us that surrender isn’t the end; it’s the beginning of something better. Amen.
If You’re Reading This…
This is your reminder: You don’t have to carry everything. You don’t have to be strong every second. You don’t have to pretend you’re okay when you’re overwhelmed.
Surrender it. Release it. Give it to God.
Not the scary kind, but the freeing kind.
